Chinese New Year is nearly here! (Officially begins Feb 17th this year)

Just wanted to give a deep dive into how longevity peaches play a significant role in Chinese culture and WHY they're an important part in our celebrations.

A lot of times customers will ask me to adorn their cakes with some longevity peaches because these cute fruits have great meanings and well wishes attached.

♡ Hello Kitty Strawberry cake 😺🎀🌷

It's giving soft girl, sweet & gentle era.

Encountered a few riffraffs with the design as there are a lot of intricate details involved, I needed to consider the piping nozzle sizes to fit proportionally with the cake.
And with fresh cream being fresh cream #iykyk I actually took off the most inner piping rim and had to re-pipe it smaller to fit the writing in a small space. AND THEN I messed up the writing so I had to redo that too.

‼️TOP TIP: When dealing with fresh cream, always make sure to have back up cream.

Bespoke designs are ALWAYS a challenge when it comes to fresh cream; one too many folds and your cream is too thick and adding the right colouring to colour match the characters whilst making sure it all still looks neat and professionally executed.

It's a rewarding feeling when the design comes together because fresh cream is a tricky medium to work with.

Such a fun cake to make and loved the outcome! 🥰
